Goals and Objectives
of the Journal “Russian Otorhinolaryngology”
The journal follows the guiding principles of editorial independence developed by the World Association of Medical Editors, ethical standards of scientific publications developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics, recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, checklists and recommendations on provision of studies results of the EQUATOR network, and recommendations of the Council of Science Editors’ White Paper on promoting integrity in scientific journal publications.
The journal “Russian Otorhinolaryngology” covers topical subjects and current developments in the field of otorhinolaryngology and surdology and in medical science fields such as allergology, immunology, oncology, facial maxillary, plastic and aesthetic surgery, and neuropathology.
The purpose of the journal is to assist in development of new advanced studies in otorhinolaryngology and surdology, education and development of scientific workers and practitioners.
Publication in “Russian Otorhinolaryngology” is honorary and highly sought — the author's name and his/her work are entered into the Russian Science Citation Index thus increasing the citation index which is an indicator of scientist’s scientific activity and reputation in the world medicine. The journal occupies the leading positions in the rating for otorhinolaryngologists in Russian and CIS countries.
“Russian Otorhinolaryngology” is an official name of the National Medical Association of E.N.T. Specialists, National Medical Research Center for Otorhinolaryngology of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russian and Federal State Budgetary Institution “Saint-Petersburg Research Institute of Ear, Throat, Nose and Speech” of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation.
The National Medical Association of E.N.T. Specialists has delegated the right to select manuscripts of practical interest to the Editor-in-Chief Yuriy Konstantinovish Yanov and members of the journal editorial team. In response, the journal editorial staff undertakes to provide high scientific level of published materials, transparency of editorial activity and compliance with the best practices of scientific publication.
Both Russian and foreign scientists and healthcare specialists are invited for publication in the journal.
Objectives of the journal:
- Regular and timely informing of medical community of latest achievement and future developments of Russian and foreign medical science and healthcare primarily in the sphere of head and neck diseases.
- Publication of material addressing and promoting best practices of healthcare delivery in case of respiratory and ear diseases.
- Assistance in extension of international scientific relations.
- Systematic publication of material supporting enhancement of medical staff scientific knowledge.
- Covering issues of interrelation between otorhinolaryngology and associated disciplines — allergology, pulmonology, pediatrics, maxillofacial surgery, oncology, plastic and aesthetic surgery.
- Providing assistance to young scientists in improvement of quality of their publications.
- Increasing capabilities of distribution and indexation of published scientific works and different key foreign citation bases.
