ABSTRACT
Group A β-haemolytic streptococcus (GAS) is an important bacterial agent able to cause serious complications. The article considers the role of GAS and other microorganisms in the development of such common syndrome as sore throat. The authors provide their own data related to identification of GAS in the patients with paratonsillar abscess.
