ABSTRACT
The objective of this work is the development and study of efficacy of an individual set of vestibular rehabilitation activities, including a set of exercises aimed at stabilizing the gaze, training postural stability and gait as well as the exercises for replacement and habituation and training of optokinetic reactions. The study involved 37 patients (aged from 27 to 68 years). To assess the patient’s condition and determine the efficacy of the method, the authors used: the standard otoneurological examination, videoinystagmorgraphy, WAM-questionnaire (wellbeing, activity and mood), the dizziness rating scale. The patients were examined before the rehabilitation activities and 3 months afterwards. Based on the neurological examination and vidoinystagmography, WAM-questionnaire and dizziness rating scale, the authors revealed the positive dynamics both in the course of the disease and of psychoemotional state of the patients. The Meniere’s disease, vestibular neuronitis, BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo ) are more homogeneous vestibular pathologies in their manifestation, therefore, it becomes possible to use this individual set of exercises (ISE) for a large group of patients with positive response dynamics. Psychogenic vertigo is characterized by the greatest variability of clinical manifestations, a response to various vestibular influences, therefore, requires a more detailed selection of exercises from the individual set and also occupies the key place in the rehabilitation of patients.
