ABSTRACT
The presented study presents a retrospective, observational analysis of CT findings in 58 patients who were hospitalized at the Semashko Nizhny Novgorod Regional Clinical Hospital for the period 2018–2020. The features of the clinical picture, anatomical and topographic variants of the structures of the sphenoid sinus in various forms of isolated sphenoiditis are presented. All patients underwent surgical treatment (the extended transnasal approach was most often used), a comparison of the preoperative CT image and intraoperative findings was performed. The article also describes clinical cases of different types of lesions of the main sinuses, illustrated with photographs. A thorough analysis of the findings of imaging (multislice CT findings with multiplanar reconstruction (axial, coronal, and sagittal planes) and cone-beam CT), their correlation with the clinical picture, makes it possible to more accurately determine the phenotype of an isolated lesion and build the safest and most effective algorithm for drug and surgical treatment.
