ABSTRACT
In recent decades, despite the large number of synthetic drugs used in patients with nasal or sinus disease, the interest in drugs based on medicinal plants has not disappeared but, on the contrary, has revived, which is explained by scientific research in this direction and the emergence of new drug developments. The use of medications based on medicinal plants revealed the ability of drugs with high biological activity to ensure the regulation of the processes of physiological and reparative regeneration. In relation to a number of medicinal plants, there is confirmed data about the ability to influence various links of homeostasis and homeokinesis of the mucous membrane of the airways. There is a whole group of plants that has a wound-healing and epithelizing effect. When using medicinal plants, it is necessary to reasonably and critically consider their purpose, depending on the clinical situation. In particular, it is important to ensure the restoration of the mucous membrane after surgical interventions in patients with nasal or sinus disease.
