ABSTRACT
The use of mesenchymal stem cells leads to a decrease in the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, suppresses immune inflammation, and stimulates tissue regeneration at the site of their administration. Further study of immune processes in chronic non-communicable diseases of the nasal cavity will contribute to the emergence of new, more effective methods of treatment based on cell therapy. The article presents short-term results of the effectiveness of the use of mesenchymal stem cells of the olfactory lining in addition to the main treatment (surgical, the use of intranasal glucocorticosteroids) of chronic polypous rhinosinusitis based on the data of endoscopic examination of the nasal cavity/anterior rhinoscopy, rhinocytogram, anterior active rhinomanometry. The material of the study was the data of patients with chronic polypous rhinosinusitis aged 24 to 67 years who were treated at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Otorhinolaryngology in the period November 2021 – May 2023, who agreed to participate in the study. The main group (n = 14) includes patients who received cell therapy after surgery. The control group (n = 12) includes patients who did not receive cell therapy. Dynamic observation was carried out upon admission to the hospital before surgery (initial treatment) and up to 6 months after surgery.
