ABSTRACT
Despite the widespread prevalence of combined lesions of the organs of the lymphadenoid pharyngeal ring, the frequent performance of adenoidectomy in pediatric practice, the question of the effect of removal of the pharyngeal tonsil on the course of the inflammatory process in the palatine tonsils remains unresolved. To study the effect of adenoidectomy on the course of chronic tonsillitis, a comparative morphological analysis of 84 pairs of palatine tonsils obtained during surgical treatment for decompensated chronic tonsillitis was carried out. The drugs were divided into two groups: the first group consisted of drugs from patients with chronic tonsillitis who had a history of adenoidectomy; the second group, drugs for patients with chronic tonsillitis without a history of adenoidectomy. According to the results of the study, the severity of inflammatory changes in the palatine tonsils is less in patients with chronic tonsillitis who have previously undergone removal of the pharyngeal tonsil. Thus, the results obtained demonstrate the positive effect of adenoid removal on the course of a chronic inflammatory process in the palatine tonsils and also determine the feasibility of staged treatment of patients with combined pathology of the organs of the lymphoid pharyngeal ring.
