ABSTRACT
Abstract. Because of the widespread occurrence of inflammatory and tumor ENT diseases, finding methods for early noninvasive diagnosis is becoming urgent. Considering the high sensitivity of Raman spectroscopy and fluorescence, it seems advisable to use this method as an auxiliary tool for detecting the pathological process in ENT diseases at the stage of their initiation. Objective. To substantiate the development of standard operating procedures for the early noninvasive identification of inflammatory and tumor ENT diseases. Materials and methods. In the course of the study, methods of Raman spectroscopy and fluorescence at various laser wavelengths were used in relation to various ENT pathology. Results. The Raman spectra of light and fluorescence in normal condition and in inflammatory and tumor ENT diseases were analyzed in comparison with intact tissues of the same location. Spectral differences of tissues in normal and pathological tissues of ENT organs have been demonstrated using Raman spectroscopy and fluorescence in diseases of the ear, pharynx, larynx, nasal cavity, and paranasal sinuses. Conclusion. The method of Raman and fluorescence spectroscopy can be informative and promising, non-invasive, fast, highly sensitive, highly specific and accurate for detecting ENT pathology at an early stage.
