ABSTRACT
The article presents the results of research aimed at proving the possibility of noninvasive therapy of purulent frontal sinusitis in acute polysinusitis. We selected 50 case histories of 390 patients with acute polysinusitis treated in the hospital in 2014, based of availability of a level of purulent exudate in one or both frontal sinuses. The patients underwent standard treatment (puncture of the maxillary sinuses in case of purulent exudate, confirmed by X-ray diagnostics, antibiotic therapy, decongestant, mucolytics). The main clinical manifestations ended by the 5th–7th day of treatment. In 2 patients the recovery was delayed and they underwent the frontal sinus trephination. The treatment results suggest that noninvasive therapy of acute frontal sinusitises is justified, due to the fact the frontal sinuses, unlike maxillary sinuses, are drained «gravitationally», aided by reduction of inflammation of the maxillary sinuses being lower in relation to the frontal ones, thus relieving the natural drain path.
