ABSTRACT
Due to the wide prevalence of simple snoring and sleep apnea across population, the work on optimization the diagnostic algorithm of these diseases among patients of ENT profile remains relevant. The authors examined a group of healthy individuals (30 people), with no reports of sleep breathing disorders as a reference group for the further study of snoring individuals disorders. To evaluate the entry criteria, the authors conducted preliminary questionnaire survey, night respiratory monitoring, ENT organs endoscopy, CAT and anthropometric measurement of the soft palate. The surface electromyography (EMG) of the muscles of the soft palate was selected as a supplementary examination method. EMG results of all the subjects were consistent with normal indicators of 28 people in rest and 30 people – during the functional load. The surface electromyography of the muscles of the soft palate has several advantages compared to needle and stimulation myography – it is less labor-intensive, noninvasive, easy to perform and reduces the time of the survey.
