ABSTRACT
The issues of surgical treatment and rehabilitation of the patients suffering from chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) belong to the most urgent problems in the present-day otiatrics. The latter is related to the significant number of unsatisfactory results in both sanitizing and reconstructive-functional interventions. Currently, most otosurgeons hold the opinion that alongside with sanation, it is necessary to restore the middle ear architectonics, thereby eliminating the conditions predisposing to inflammations. Reconstructive surgery of the middle ear retrotympanic regions is of high importance for solving this task.
