ABSTRACT
This article presents the authors’ method of elimination of congenital choanal atresia by transseptal access. At the period of 2015 through 2016, 10 children with congenital choanal atresia aged 2 to 9 years have been operated on in State-Financed Health Institution of Moscow Region Moscow Regional Scientific and Research Clinical Institute named after M. F. Vladimirskiy, in 4 patients (66.7%) the surgical intervention was repeated after the operation performed by means of intranasal access. All the atresias were unilateral, 6 atresias were complete and 4 – incomplete. There were 7 girls and 3 boys with atresias. Persistent formation of choanal lumen after the treatment according to our method takes place in 3–4 weeks after surgery, which is confirmed by endoscopic nasopharynx examination in dynamics.
