Computer-aided navigation system in treatment of children with the diseases of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses

ABSTRACT
The use of minimally invasive methods of surgical treatment is preferable in children’s otorhinolaryngology. The use of navigation system in rhinosurgery provides the improvement of endoscopic interventional technique, the avoidance of damage of the adjacent vital anatomical structures, planning the scope of surgical treatment, thus decreasing the risk of post-surgical complications in pediatric practice. This article describes successful application of the navigation system in surgery of various nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses diseases in 25 children.
