ABSTRACT
The objective of the study was to reveal the causes of vestibular dysfunction in the patients after piston stapedoplasty. The authors examined twenty-seven patients operated on at the period of 2015 to 2017. The examination included: the collection of complaints, otoneurological examination, positional testing, vestibulometry with computer-aided electronystagmography, computer-aided tomography of temporal bones.
The main causes of vestibular dysfunction in the postoperative period were: deep penetration of the prosthesis into the labyrinthine vestibule, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).
