ABSTRACT
This article presents the results of the study of antistreptolysin-O in the results of biochemical blood analysis in children with paratonsillar abscess in 115 patients. In 73(63%) patients revealed excess of ASL-O. Detection of elevated levels of ASL-O in children with this pathology is of great importance. In our study, we analyzed the frequency of increase in ASL-O in children, as well as the dependence of increase in ASL-O associated with beta-hemolytic Streptococcus group A and the choice of tactics of treatment and selection of antibacterial treatment in the early stages of diagnosis before receiving the cultures of purulent discharge cavity of paratonsillar abscess.
