The treatment of voice disorders in the patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases

ABSTRACT
The article covers the issues of specific features of the laryngeal pathology and the methods in managing the patients with voice disorders associated with autoimmune rheumatic diseases. A group of 25 patients with various autoimmune rheumatic diseases aged from 12 to 70 years was examined and underwent complex conservative treatment, including inhalation therapy and phonopedics, in Department of Phoniatrics of Clinical Research Centre of Otorhinolaryngology of Federal Medico-Biological Agency of Russia. All the patients were female. The article highlights the importance of individual and multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of voice disorders in the patients of this category. The article reflects the basic principles of application and the advantages of inhalation therapy over other methods of drug delivery to the larynx. The article outlines the main trends in the treatment of voice disorders and shows the efficacy of phonopedics in such conditions of the larynx as subatrophic chronic laryngitis, bamboo nodes of vocal folds. Based on the study conducted and the literature data analysis, the authors show the reasonableness and efficacy of a complex conservative treatment, including inhalation therapy and phonopedics, of voice disorders in the patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases.
