ABSTRACT
The article is devoted to the period of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of V. G. N. N. Burdenko 1923–1933 which was headed by Professor Ivan Pavlovich Voloshin, who chose the path of a doctor only at the age of 35 after sixteen years of military service. He passed his formation in medicine with the outstanding scientists of our country S. F. von Stein, A. F. Ivanova, N. P. Simanovsky, V. N. Shevkuneko. I. P. Voloshin contributed to the development of Russian otorhinolaryngology.
