ABSTRACT
Abstract. Tinnitus, also known as chronic tinnitus, is an insistent subjective sensation of a sound, such as ringing or buzzing, that occurs in the absence of a real external sound source. This condition is extremely common on a global level. According to current statistics, about 14% of the world’s adult population experiences this symptom. It is important to note that the incidence of tinnitus increases with age, reaching 23-24% among people over 65 years of age. Objective. To present the results of an empirical study on the relationship between tinnitus and anxiety, as well as their impact on quality of life. Patients and methods. The study involved 40 people divided into two groups. Of these, 20 patients with clinical symptoms of tinnitus and 20 people without such symptoms. The average age of the subjects was 45.6±12.4 years, 32.5% of men and 67.5% of women. The following methods were used as the primary tools: Spielberger-Hanin Anxiety Scale and the WHO-100 Quality of Life Questionnaire (adapted by the Bekhterev Center of Psychiatry and Neurology). Additional data was collected on the frequency and intensity of noise-like sensations. The findings demonstrate significant links between the degree of tinnitus, increased anxiety and decreased quality of life, especially in the components of physical and psychological well-being. Results indicate the need for early diagnosis and comprehensive integration of psycho-emotional interventions into clinical practice. Prospects include the development of personalized anxiety correction programs and adaptive strategies to improve the daily functionality of patients with tinnitus
