ABSTRACT
Abstract. Relevance. This article is the final publication of our research on the history of the discovery and study of the frontal sinuses, published at various times and in various journals. The article examines the research findings of renowned 20th-century scientists such as M. Hajek, G. J. Killian, A. Onodi, and M.V. Miloslavsky, as well as little-known or undeservedly forgotten works (K. F. Boege, P . H. Gerber, P . S. Shidlovsky). The use of X-rays, discovered by K. Roentgen at the end of the 19th century, made it possible to study the anatomy and diagnose diseases of the frontal sinuses during life. The invention of computed tomography (CT) in the 1970s revolutionized medicine. H. Stammberger founded a new field of rhinology called FASS. Scientific breakthroughs of the 20th century became the «gold standard» in the diagnosis and treatment of frontal sinus diseases.
