ABSTRACT
The article presents the review of application of low-frequency ultrasonic cavitation in the treatment of certain ENT diseases. The authors discuss physical characteristics of ultrasound, providing explanation of cavitation phenomenon and the mechanisms of impact on the damaged mucous membrane. Based on the analysis of pathophysiological changes (cellular, tissue, functional deviations, etc.) in the postoperative period in persons after rhinosurgical interventions the article substantiates the need for further study of therapeutic possibilities of low-frequency ultrasound cavitation and expansion of indications for its application.
