ABSTRACT
The objective of the study was to evaluate the efficacy of application of intranasal glucocorticosteroid Nozefrine in the complex treatment of patients with acute suppurative rhinosinusitis. The authors examined 20 patients (the average age was 36±4.3 years) with acute suppurative rhinosinusitis developed against the background of acute respiratory disease. Alongside with antibiotic therapy and lavage of paranasal sinuses under negative pressure with furacin solution, all the patients were treated with intranasal glucocorticosteroid Nozefrine – two doses (50 μg each) per nasal passage once a day. The general condition was assessed according to the scale of severity of patient’s condition, clinical symptoms, results of rhinoendoscopy and radiography of paranasal sinuses. For objective assessment of nasal breathing, the authors used the method of anterior active rhinomanometry (AARM). The study showed that the domestic preparation Nozefrine is a recommendable analogue of foreign intranasal anti-inflammatory drugs, it can be recommended for treatment of acute inflammatory diseases of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses.
