ABSTRACT
The review presents the main approaches to audiologic identification of characteristic signs of exposure to industrial noise. The authors provide definition of the noise threshold shift, considering the issues of differentiation of the effect of noise and aging on the actual hearing. It is shown that the presence of the characteristic audiometric peak or valley is an essential evidence of the noise effects, but not absolutely pathognomonic one.
