ABSTRACT
Abstract. Verbal communication plays a leading role in human interaction. Therefore, the partial or complete loss of voice, which is one of the universal ways of transmitting thoughts, and the prospects for its recovery are among the main factors determining the personal and social lives of patients after laryngeal surgery. Surgical treatment for malignant tumors of the larynx leads to fundamental changes in the biomechanics of voice formation and acoustic characteristics of the voice after surgical intervention. This paper presents clinical examples and the results of our own studies of the biomechanics and pathophysiology of substitutive phonation in patients with laryngeal cancer after various amounts of surgical interventions.
