ABSTRACT
Abstract. Allergic rhinitis is a common respiratory tract disease that seriously affects a person’s well-being. Nasal obstruction syndrome is a key factor reducing the quality of life of patients having allergic rhinitis, and drug therapy is often ineffective in many cases. Objective. To increase the effectiveness of treatment of uncontrolled forms of allergic rhinitis by laser correction of the lower nasal concha. Patients and methods. The study included 50 patients. Of these, 25 people made up the comparison group diagnosed with vasomotor rhinitis, the remaining 25 people were included in the main group with an uncontrolled form of allergic rhinitis. The treatment was carried out by laser correction. A semiconductor laser with a wavelength of 445 nm and a power of 4 W was used, and the effect was performed in an interstitial constant mode. Discussion. The observations showed a significant improvement in the condition of patients after laser exposure. It was noted that patients with uncontrolled allergic rhinitis were able to switch to basic drug therapy, and the symptoms of vasomotor rhinitis were relieved without the use of additional therapy. An objective assessment after one month showed the restoration of nasal breathing to physiological parameters (according to anterior active rhinomanometry (AAR) and acoustic rhinomanometry) for all patients, regardless of the group. After six months, a follow-up examination confirmed subjective relief of symptoms in all patients. Conclusions. The results in both study groups demonstrate similar efficacy in reducing nasal obstruction in patients with allergic and vasomotor rhinitis. Further research will focus on identifying risk factors and developing relapse prevention strategies, which opens up new opportunities for the use of our technology. Based on the data obtained, it is proposed to integrate the method into current clinical treatment protocols.
