ABSTRACT
Abstract. The relevance of the study is because of the increasing frequency of dental implantation and the associated increase in the development of post-implantation maxillary sinusitis. Objective. To determine the need for removal of bone plastic material in the development of post-implantation sinusitis after subantral augmentation. Materials and methods. This includes an analysis of a clinical case of a patient with post-implantation left-sided maxillary ethmoiditis after sinus lifting and dental implantation, as well as a comprehensive examination that, using CT scan and endoscopic diagnostics. Results. The study demonstrates the possibility of preserving the bone-plastic material after the development of post-implantation sinusitis, provided that adequate conservative therapy or minimally-invasive functional rhinosinus surgery is performed. Conclusions. The development of post-implantation maxillary sinusitis is possible even with a technically correct operation. The key factor in successful treatment is the interdisciplinary collaboration between dentists and otolaryngologists. With timely and appropriate treatment, it is possible to preserve the augmented material while maintaining its functional properties.
