ABSTRACT
Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is a benign tumor with a high degree of vascularization. It has a local form of expansive growth. Abundance of a blood vessels and angiomatous structure of embryonic vessels lead to massive bleeding after the damage or removal of the tumor. For the prevention of an abundant bleeding the preoperative procedures are conducted as well as the different intraoperative methods. One of these methods is using the surgical laser. We took a morphological research of the removed tumor tissue to select the optimum parameters of the Nd:YAG laser with the wavelength of 1064 nm. According to the results of histological examination the effective laser mode has been determined for the surface and interstitial photocoagulation.
