ABSTRACT
The article presents the experience of diagnosing the fractures of the temporal bone pyramid in 46 examined patients based on the study of specific features of clinical symptoms, the mechanism of injure, assessing the informative value of the examination data for diagnosing the type of fracture. The objective of the work was to assess the informative value of the examination data for diagnosing the injured with the temporal bone pyramid fractures. The diagnosis was made on the basis of medical history, the complaints of the injured, clinical data, evaluation of the otoscopic picture, inter alia, with the use of magnifying technique, the study of auditory and vestibular functions. All the patients underwent threshold tonal audiometry with the use of a clinical audiometer ATs-40 in a soundproof chamber. The main CCI examination methods were X-ray studies: Schuller, Meyer, Stenvers view with the wide application of CT in the axial projection, brain MRI. It is concluded that the participation of an otorhinolaryngologist in a comprehensive examination of the injured with CCI provides timely and correct diagnosing and makes it possible to prevent various complications aggravating the progress of the underlying disease.
