ABSTRACT
The authors carried out clinical and audiological examination of 100 children with indications for cochlear implantation. In the process of the study, the frequency of exudative otitis media (up to 21%) in children with high degree of sensoneural hearing loss was established. The interrelation between the infection agent (CMV, EBV) and the intensity of lymphoproliferative syndrome as well as allergic conditions were analyzed. In the group of patients with mixed hearing loss, the positive allergical anamnesis was identified in 66% of cases, and the lymphoproliferative syndrome – in 52% of patients which statistically exceeds the same data in the group of patients with isolated sensorineural hearing loss.
