ABSTRACT
Abstract. Wegener’s granulomatosis is a rare rheumatological disease that has a multifaceted clinical picture, making it difficult to diagnose. There is no approved classification of granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA); however, localized and generalized forms are distinguished, which at the same time are stages of the same process. With localized GPA, ENT organs and visual organs are affected; with generalized form, lung and kidney damage is added. In the practice of an ENT doctor, this disease can also occur, more often in the form of lesions of the nose and paranasal sinuses or sensorineural hearing loss. However, damage to the pharynx is also occurs and requires caution. A comprehensive assessment of all patient complaints and multidisciplinary examination, together with a therapist, rheumatologist, nephrologist, pulmonologist, ophthalmologist, will reduce the time for diagnosis and prescribe the necessary treatment as soon as possible. The observation of Wegener’s granulomatosis with lesion of ENT organs in a 33-year-old patient is described. The diagnosis of Wegener’s granulomatosis was established on examination, and given the high titer of cANCA antibodies this diagnosis was fully confirmed.
