ABSTRACT
Abstract. In this article, we present a rare clinical case of extracranial aneurysm of the internal carotid artery (ICA) occurring under the mask of a peritonsillar abscess. The similarity of the clinical picture of an extracranial ICA aneurysm with a peritonsillar abscess can lead to an error and result in death when attempting to open such an «abscess.» Therefore, the features of differential diagnosis of these diseases are extremely important
