ABSTRACT
Abstract. Pharyngeal diseases are widespread. Objective. To identify some epidemiological features of chronic pharyngeal diseases in individuals undergoing routine annual general preventive medical examination within the framework of a multicenter epidemiological study. Materials and methods. The study presents the results of a survey of 536 people over the age of 18 conducted in medical institutions in Novosibirsk, Barnaul, and Kemerovo under the supervision of faculty staff. The survey was conducted for 10 days each month (from January to December) during 2024. In addition to the passport part, the questionnaire includes questions regarding complaints from the pharynx and ENT organs; a history of aggravation by surgical interventions on the pharyngeal lymphatic ring; the presence of somatic pathology; examination data from an otolaryngologist. Chi-square statistics were used for data processing. Differences at p < 0.05 were found to be statistically significant. Results. Chronic pharyngeal diseases are widespread and more often bother women. Gender and age range features of the leading pharyngeal complaints have been identified. Conclusions. According to the conducted medical examinations of 536 people, 61.94% of those examined of Western Siberian cities are concerned about chronic pharyngeal diseases. Women are more likely than men to experience pharyngeal complaints. Chronic pharyngeal diseases are accompanied by mild hypersalivation, which can be used as an auxiliary objective sign of existing abnormalities.
